Storage instructions

Close the can tightly immediately after each use. Keep away from heat, sunlight, and moisture.

Consume within 4 weeks after opening.

For longer preservation, place the can in an airtight bag or container in the refrigerator — the double protection prevents the absorption of odors and moisture from the fridge.

Before reopening a can taken out of the fridge, let it return to room temperature (10-15 minutes) to avoid condensation on the powder.

FAQ

Is your matcha 'real' matcha?

Good question, and the answer depends on what you mean by "true."

If "true matcha" means tencha (leaves shade-grown for 3 to 4 weeks, stems removed, leaves steamed) finely ground at low temperature: then yes, absolutely. This is exactly what we produce in China, with the same technical requirements as the Japanese standards for premium matcha.

If "true matcha" means made in Japan: then no, and we fully own that. Matcha does not have an international protected designation of origin. The word is not legally reserved for any country. It simply means "ground tea."

There is a lot of misinformation circulating online about Chinese matcha. We are here to set the record straight and let your taste buds decide: what defines the quality of a matcha is the process, the harvest, and the traceability — not the leaf's passport.

Is your matcha organic?

Our producer holds European organic, JAS and USDA certifications. Chalala Tea is currently in the process of obtaining operator certification. In the meantime, we provide you with our pesticide residue analysis — because we believe transparency is better than a label.
